The Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society (OCMS) was co-founded by George Rodman and other Funeral Directors throughout the State of Ohio in 1996 to disseminate accurate, up-to-date and correct information regarding cremation and to help Society members arrange for the highest quality, most reasonable cost cremation services available anywhere in the State of Ohio. In 2002 The Reverend Linda Meredith joined OCMS, Linda brings considerable experience to the table from her work in the ministry as a former Hospice Chaplain.

Traditionally, cremation has only been offered by Funeral Directors. Thus, to find a cremation service provider, the consumer ends up calling on traditional Funeral Homes of which there are hundreds to choose from in the State. The consumer will soon discover that there is no standard price for cremation, in fact, the cost varies all over the board. See our recent Price Comparison Report for the Central Ohio region. The price varied our low members only price (call us for the latest price) to a high of nearly $2000 for the exact same level of service, "Direct Cremation". The consumer will also quickly discover that cremation is the last choice the traditional Funeral Home wants you to select!

The Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society contracts with Rodman Funeral Services (created by George Rodman) to provide cremation services for Society members. Rodman Funeral Services  handles all of the cremation details and arrangements even if the deceased member is out of the immediate service area! Rodman Funeral Services has contracted with selected service providers (co-founders) in all regions of the state to insure the OCMS quality and cost expectations are met. The Society member will never need to worry about hidden costs, costly overruns or mistakes when working with the Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society.
